Special Offer Below!

So we’ve drilled into your head that over 90% of all consumers start their buying process online. You’re making strides, setting up social pages for your business. You’ve even started doing some AdWords or Facebook ad campaigns. OK great! BUT – what will they find once they land on your company’s website; social or other platform?

Getting the traffic is step one, converting that traffic is what really matters. That is why we are asking the question – What will they find? What was the last thing you purchased? A bottle of wine, an article of clothing or a box of cereal? Take a look at any product or service and evaluate your purchasing decision. What drew you to the product or service? I bet it was visual initially with a professional and attractive face. Once you picked it up, it was the product or service’s job to then engage you with the content. If it passes that test, it probably earned your business.

With any purchasing decision you have several pre-qualifiers prior to purchase. What ultimately makes you buy is the feeling you get about the product or service. That decision is initially influenced visually. Without a quality image, the consumer won’t even give the product a chance. Let us explain it in this way; we have all purchased something because it “looked cooler” than the competition. But we have all had the let down when the product didn’t match the visual. Now put that in reverse and take that same well designed product or service and back it with quality visuals. That is the sweet spot that all successful businesses own.

I know, I know; some will still say that they don’t need to spend money on making their company, product or service appealing because they are so great already. That may be true, but if you are doing well now with an outdated or unattractive brand, company, service or product image; just imagine what could be possible with that perfect combination of quality product or service and appealing package.

So let us ask again; What will they find? On the internet – your website, social media pages, yelp posts, google places page? They ALL matter. Each is a director to you and ultimately your bottom line. If they are disjointed and unattended, potential consumers will move onto the next option. Let’s slow them down by engaging them and and showing them why your company, product or service is the best!

“My business can’t use it, it’s for people to plan parties and create vision boards.”

Yeah, yeah yeah. I bet you think ‘smart phones’ are “dumb” too. Don’t let fear of something new slow down your business. Pinterest, according to a recent article published by Mashable, is the number 3 social network in the U.S.

“Social media is for young kids and people who sit at home all day on the computer.”

OK, then sneak up on your employees and see what they have on their computer screen. No don’t do that, you’ll be creepy, I’ll just tell you that it’s a social network. That’s right, even your best employees take a minute or two to update a status, do some online catching up on their breaks or are feverishly pinning items for their next big event.

Experian rep Matt Tatham says Pinterest beat its next-closest competitor, LinkedIn, in total visits in February. Tatham says the rankings by total visits for March is as follows: 1. Facebook: 7 billion 2. Twitter: 182 million 3. Pinterest: 104 million 4. LinkedIn: 86 million

Using this information to your advantage may be easier than you think. Think about what product you sell or service you provide, then find related content that you can distribute to your audience. Maybe you sell shoes? A good idea would be to create a Pinterest page that frequently posts running events or the best local running trails so your audience comes to you for valuable information.

Yes, social networks can be a distraction when used improperly. However, when you are able to ‘harness their power for good’ you can create an effective engagement strategy around one of the most powerful and low cost methods of advertising currently available.
